A solidarity trail, organized by the GNR to support the Parish Center of Cachopo, takes place on March 18, in that parish of the municipality of Tavira.
This event is organized by the 2nd Company of the Intervention Group for Protection and Relief (GIPS) of the GNR.
The III Trail Cachopo Solidário will be carried out on urban stretches and signposted trails, featuring uneven floors, roads and natural obstacles, watercourses and land surrounding the village of Cachopo, mostly through hills and valleys.
The competition will have several aspects: hiking (10 kilometers), Short trail (15 kilometers) and Long trail (32 kilometers).
The mission of GNR's GIPS is to carry out first-rate prevention and intervention actions throughout the national territory, in emergency situations of protection and assistance, such as forest fires, hazardous materials, catastrophes or serious accidents.
