The new regulation of the Olhão Housing Lease Support Program, which will regulate access to social housing available in the municipality, was unanimously approved by the Municipal Assembly.
The decision to change this regulation is related, according to the Chamber of Olhão, with "the increase in the cost of renting and the scarcity of housing available for this purpose", which forced "the government to intervene in the matter".
«The housing lease is one of the three pillars of the National Housing Strategy. In this context, the municipality cannot avoid giving its contribution to the solution of this fundamental problem on the social agenda», considered the mayor of the municipality António Pina.
"The approval of this regulation provides legal support, essential to carry out the Support Program for Housing Lease in the municipality," added the mayor.
At the same AM meeting, the authorization for the assumption of multi-year commitments for non-housing lease, by the Municipality of Olhão, of a land located on Avenida dos Operários, was approved, according to the municipality of Olhão.
