José Cid will perform on the 27th of January, at 21 pm, at Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório, in Silves, under the scope of the “B Side” section.
Singer and composer, José Cid has a 50-year career, with numerous successes, among which his participation in several editions of the Festival da Canção da RTP stands out, having, in 1980, guaranteed victory with the song “Um grande love".
He also participated in the group “Quarteto 1111”, whose theme “The legend of El-Rei D. Sebastião” is one of those that marks the history of national popular music, and was also part of the formation of “Green Windows” in 1972.
As a soloist, Cid released his first album in 1971, and his songs became known, such as “Ontem, Hoje e Amanhã”, “My music”, “In the hut by the beach”, “On the day the King turned his birthday ”, “How the monkey likes bananas”, “20 years”, among many others.
His album, released in 1978, “10.000 years later, between Venus and Mars” was rated as one of the best records in history, in the progressive rock style.
Tickets cost 10 euros and can be purchased at the Municipal Museum of Archeology of Silves.
