The Albuhera and Raquel Peters Group promises a «memorable night», with a concert this Friday, January 26, at 21 pm, at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium. 

This is a partnership that “has been repeated over the last few years with enormous success and much applause from the public”.

The Albuhera Group favors the fusion of sounds. It seeks in traditional Portuguese music – with a special focus on fado – for its roots, but receives influences from musical genres from other cultures.

The combination of musical instruments of different characteristics such as the Portuguese guitar, classical guitar, acoustic bass, piano, keyboards, accordion, drums, percussions, violin and voices «gives originality to the musical environment and allows a new approach to themes», says the Chamber from Albufeira.

On the other hand, the different musical experiences of the group members, from jazz, classical music, pop, rock and fado «are manifested in the interpretations and create the surprise of environments and contexts when revisiting classical themes and construction of unpublished'.

Raquel Peters, in turn, has a solid path in the world of music. From an early age she showed a special vocation for music, having taken her first steps as a singer at age 12, the age at which she participated and won fado competitions in Albufeira, Lagos, Portimão, Vila do Bispo and Loulé.

His curriculum integrates about 10 years of musical studies in the disciplines of singing, piano and musical training, in the Conservatories of Music of Faro and from Albufeira, having even recorded an album as a member of the Choral Group of Traditional Portuguese Music at the Albufeira Conservatory, where he performed the songs as a soloist.

Her talent took her beyond borders, having passed through Brazil, Cape Verde, France and Spain. Among several participations, his name gained notoriety at national level in 2005, when, at the age of 21, he won, in Lisbon, the Grande Noite do Fado, in an initiative of the Casa da Imprensa.

In 2007, he accompanied, as a guest artist, the tour to Portugal (which passed through Albufeira) by the Argentine singer Marisa Santos, an artist linked to flamenco, tango and Argentine folklore.

At the age of 23, she was invited to record the single “Hasta Luego” by Pedro Frias Band, participating in the band's concerts, on the DVD recorded live in Lagoa.

Tickets cost 5 euros and are on sale at the City Council at CIAC (Autarchic Consumer Information Center) and Lídia Jorge Municipal Library, on weekdays, from 9:00 am to 13:00 pm and from 14:00 pm to 16:00 pm.
