Algarve's young talents can now enroll in the Albufeira Children's and Youth Arts Festival, whose 16th edition will take place in March, at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium. The event is open to children and young people from 6 to 17 years old who want to test their artistic skills in music, singing, dancing, illusionism and circus arts.
The qualifiers are scheduled for March 3rd and 10th, while the final will take place on March 17th.
Those interested, who must be natives or resident in the Algarve, must register by the 14th of February at the Division of Tourism, Economic and Cultural Development of the Municipality of Albufeira, which is located in the Lídia Jorge Municipal Library.
There are five types of competition: music (instrument), singing, dance (modern, classical, traditional and ballroom), illusionism and circus arts (juggling, balancing).
«Participants will be divided into two categories, from 6 to 11 years old and from 12 to 17, and may compete in a maximum of two modes», according to the City Council of Albufeira.
The top three in each of the strands win a cash prize.
With the realization of this festival, the Câmara de Albufeira intends to «encourage the practice of artistic activities and promote the discovery of new talents».
