The Algarve sailor Beatriz Cintra, from Clube Naval de Portimão, once again stood out from the competition in a new stage of the «Optimist Portugal Challenge», by winning four of the five races she competed in the Lusitânia Mar Natal Regatta, in Cascais, between 1 and December 3rd. The young woman from Portimo took first place in the Optimist Gold class.

The competition brought together other athletes from the region, some of whom managed to climb the podium in their categories. Guilherme Cavaco, from the Clube Naval de Faro, competed in the same class as Beatriz Cintra and secured 3rd place overall.

In other categories, Francisco Dias, from Clube Naval de Portimão, was 2nd in Optimist Prata, Daniel Cristiano, from the same club, secured 3rd place in Laser 4.7, the same place guaranteed by the crew consisting of Manuel Fortunato and Frederico Baptista, from Clube of Vela de Lagos/Caravela Seguros, in the Class 420 event.
