The Municipality of Aljezur will celebrate, with the University of the Algarve, another protocol to support the award of two merit scholarships to students who choose that university to pursue their degrees.
The support will only have as a requirement that students have obtained an average of 15 points at the conclusion of secondary education, and may come from any municipality in the country and not just the municipality of Aljezur.
The measure is part of the support for the development of the Algarve territory as a whole, promoting the University of the Algarve and the district as an interesting destination also for further studies.
The Municipality of Aljezur considers that «the measure, more than a support for students, should above all be understood as an incentive to the attractiveness of the Algarve and its university institution, considering that this must be a commitment of all the district councils».
This Costa Vicentina Municipality also has its own Regulation for attributing scholarships to students in the municipality of Aljezur, through which 35 scholarships are awarded annually to young students in the municipality. "It will always be through this measure that the municipality's youth will be supported, especially those with lower incomes, whether they attend the UAlg or not," adds the municipality.
