The spas of the Penha football field and Horta da Areia, in Faro, will have works.
According to the Chamber of Faro, it is planned the «total remodeling and renovation of the changing rooms of these two football fields, as well as the respective plumbing, furniture and lighting».
The contract was awarded to the company Escala X – Engenharia e Construção, Lda, in the amount of around 61 thousand euros, plus VAT at the legal rate in force.
This endeavor follows the completion, last week, of the intervention carried out on the football field of Horta da Areia, which involved the total replacement of the synthetic turf.
Already in use by the various teams that train and play on this field, «the new synthetic turf replaces the previous one, which had been laid in 2004 and which has been subject, over these more than 13 years, to severe wear due to the high number of teams that train here».
The new turf “substantially reduces the risk of injury by favoring better impact absorption. Highlight also for the better resistance and the drainage capacity, characteristics that are expected to ensure a greater durability of this lawn in relation to the interior», says the Chamber of Faro.
The contract to replace this lawn had a total cost of around 90 thousand euros, plus VAT at the legal rate in force.
