A march that will bring together the school community and senior citizens will help Silves to mark the International Day of the Educating City, on November 30th.

The Municipality of Silves will also distribute a brochure on the subject at the county's educational establishments, to celebrate this anniversary.

Silves has belonged since 2010 to the International Association of Educating Cities. It is in this context that the initiatives of November 30th are carried out, which will also allow the consolidation of the Algarve municipality's participation in the Portuguese Territorial Network of Educating Cities.

«This year's motto is “The Right to the Educating City” as an extension of the fundamental right to education, recognized in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948», according to the Silvense Chamber.

Among the measures taken by the local authority, are included «the 3rd edition of the educational offer guide of Silves (school year 2017/2018), the maintenance of the project of wipes used on meal trays in school canteens (where messages are transmitted on various themes), the continuation of the Municipal Educational Strategic Plan and the promotion of closer collaboration with external partners, taking advantage of already existing synergies».
