The second edition of “Weekend with Flavor a Orange” will be presented at the Municipal Market of Silves, on November 18, at 10:00 am, «in a morning full of surprises».
According to the Chamber of Silves, which organizes the initiative, «knowing and tasting the dishes presented by the 19 “chefs” of the restaurants participating in this gastronomic and different weekend is the main objective of this action, which will have the collaboration of the students of the course. bar and table of the Silves Sul Schools Group».
The local authority also said that “other activities that will make this morning unique with an orange flavor will also be promoted, with tastings of “Vinhos de Silves”, by the Algarve Wine Route, a creperie showcooking and the presence of a stand for the sale of natural orange juice".
This initiative is part of the municipality's strategy to promote the “Silves, Capital da Orange” brand, which “seeks to give greater visibility to the orange product, emblematic of this municipality and its producers”.
The "Weekend with Orange Flavor" will be "entirely dedicated to gastronomy made using this product" and "will allow us to highlight the unique and recognized quality characteristics, for many years, of oranges and other citrus fruits produced in this county, namely the sweetness, amount of juice and delicacy of exceptional aromas'.
The local authority recalls that the «initiative has the support of several partner entities, namely the Parish Council of Silves, the Silves Sul School Group and the Algarve Wine Route».
The “Weekend with Flavor a Orange” will be attended by restaurants Al-Karib, A Ladeira, A Mesquita, Bistro Ugo Art Café, Café Castelo de Silves, Café da Sé, Cafeteria Chapim, Casa Velha, Barbecue Valdemar, Lendas & Mitos , O Barradas, O Pina, Pérola do Arade, Roman Bridge, Central Snack Bar, Snack Bar ao Pé do Tio, Snack Vira Copos, Sushi Love and Tasca do Bené.
