A training action on microplastics and marine litter in the oceans, aimed at teachers, will take place on November 29, at Praia Grande, in Ferragudo, and at the Municipal Park of Sítio das Fontes, in Estômbar.

The training is certified by the Training Center of Associations of Schools in Albufeira, Lagoa and Silves, and starts at 14:30 pm, in Praia Grande.

Taught by Anabela Dores, Master in Environmental Citizenship and Participation, and by Carla Lourenço, Master in Marine Biology, the action is aimed at teachers of all cycles (pre-school, 1st, 2nd, 3rd CEB, secondary).

The main objective of this training is to sensitize teachers and other educators to the problem of microplastics and marine litter in the oceans, addressing contents related to marine litter (origin and impacts), plastics, microplastics and monitoring methodologies.

The training is promoted by the Municipality of Lagoa, Portuguese Environment Agency/ARH Algarve and by award-winning Straw Patrol Project.
