The public debate session “Which State Budget and what is its impact on the Algarve?” takes place this Friday, November 17, at 21 pm, in the hall of the Municipal Assembly of Loulé, with the presence of the Blocist deputy Pedro Filipe Soares.

According to the Left Block Algarve, “contrary to the guidelines of the European institutions and recovering income from work, it was possible to start the recovery of the economy and employment in Portugal at a rate higher than the average in the euro zone. In this way, the announcements of a disaster resulting from the rise in the national minimum wage, the unfreezing of pensions or the end of unconstitutional cuts in wages and pensions are completely denied”.

But, warns the party, «of the 2018 State Budget measures already announced by the Government, and which translate into public investment, none is directed to the Algarve region: lack of any appropriation for the construction of a Central Hospital, the requalification The total length of the EN125 remains a mirage and there is no prospect of lifting the gantries on Via do Infante/A22».

In addition, “no requalification of the Algarve railway and construction of new connections, including to the Airport of Faro. Sectors that still drive the regional economy, such as fishing, are completely obliterated from the State's investment map», considers the Left Block.

“The 2018 State Budget is an important instrument for deepening the country's recovery in the second half of the legislature. The document presented by the Government, now being debated in the specialty, reflects the negotiations that the Bloc held with the Government, but it still has no guaranteed fundamental priorities that respond to the objectives of the agreement (with the Government), still to be fulfilled, and to the areas where the delay of government action is greater», he concludes.
