The “I Intensive Course in Obstetrics and Pediatrics for General and Family Medicine” takes place on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of November, at TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão.
The initiative, of a technical-scientific nature, is especially aimed at general and family medicine doctors, interns and specialists «with the aim of promoting a better articulation between the hospital specialty and consultations in primary health care, promoting greater autonomy of the general and family medicine doctors», explains the Centro Hospital Universitário do Algarve (CHUA).
Assuming a theoretical-practical aspect, over the course of the three days of the course, some of the main and most current topics in clinical practice in the area of pediatrics and obstetrics will be on the table, as is the case of the themes "normal pregnancy and counseling" , “newborn evaluation” and “adolescent contraception”.
At the opening ceremony of the course, in addition to the Board of Directors of the University Hospital Center of the Algarve and the organizing services, representatives of various health entities in the region will be present, as well as Isilda Gomes, mayor of Portimão.
The initiative is promoted by the Services of Obstetrics and Pediatrics of the Portimão Unit of CHUA, in partnership with the Association for Training and Research of the Maternity of Barlavento Algarvio.
