The Campos de Petanca Complex of São Brás de Alportel, part of the Sports and Leisure Park of that town, is inaugurated on November 5th, at 15 pm, followed by the first edition of the “Taça do Município”.
This complex is made up of four petanque fields «properly equipped with lighting, urban furniture and urban planning», explains the City Council of São Brás.
The work also involved «drainage work» and had a municipal investment of around 18 thousand euros, carried out by the São-Brasense company “Trunforiginal”.
The Campos de Petanca Complex «comes to reinforce the São Brás de Alportel sports and leisure park and intends to be an open space, both for practitioners and potential practitioners of this sport, with considerable expression in the municipality of São Brás de Alportel, which has long been was chosen for the headquarters of the Portuguese Federation of Petanque, which this year completed 25 years of existence», adds the municipality.
Right after the inauguration there will be the first edition of the Municipal Cup in petanque, starting at 15:30 pm, a tournament open to federated athletes from local clubs and to federated and non-federated athletes from São Brás de Alportel.
The Municipal Cup in Petanca is organized by the City Council, with the support and collaboration of the Machados cultural and sporting group and the Portuguese Federation of Petanca.
