About the guests:

Ricardo Sobral is born in Portimão, has always lived in Figueira, with which he has a huge connection. With a degree in Tourism, marketing branch from the University of Algarve, he completed a postgraduate degree in hotel management, having started professional functions as a management intern at Pestana Dom João II.

In 2005, he was invited to be the general director of the Hotel Santa Catarina in Praia da Rocha, having been responsible for its launch on the market and for its entire management, which, thanks to the team he had the pleasure of working with, quickly achieved very positive results. The increasing importance of the online market for tourism in the Algarve and the increased effort it had to put into marketing this accommodation unit without a pool, with traditional operators, led it to pay special attention to the online market and seek to specialize. get the most out of this commercial area.

Thus came the idea of creating an online travel agency and in 2011, “Rickytravel” was born with an innovative concept in which the customer had the opportunity to propose a price they wanted to spend on their vacation and interested hotels responded in real time. This model would not live up to expectations and after constant tests and reformulations, Rickytravel is today a national reference B2C that will reach the mark of 10 million euros in sales this year.

Manuel Brito he was born in Olhão and it was in Lisbon that he graduated in Business Management and has been making a career in the financial areas, as an auditor, financial and tax consultant, currently a member of the Supervisory Board of CGD, but still having the Algarve in his professional and personal horizon.

In addition to having an office in Faro, as a founding partner of DFK& Associados, it is also in the region that he decides to intervene and give life to projects of a socio-environmental and cultural content, as emerging interests that complement his career, namely through the creation of a regional publisher- " Sul, Sol e Sal”, with the aim of enhancing the culture of southern Europe, especially the Algarve.

In May 2015, a bar conversation that turned into a boat conversation, in the company of a biologist and a shipbuilder, came up with the idea of putting solar-powered boats on the water and developing the “Sun Concept” company that has in its DNA technological innovation, industrial design and sustainability. A pioneer in Portugal in electro-solar vessels and one of the first worldwide, it wants to sail far beyond the Portuguese coast, already counting on the recognition of customers and partners as well as first place in the national stage of the entrepreneurship award “ Chivas the Venture” which distinguishes social and environmental entrepreneurship startups from all over the world.
