The event "Faro Active” will animate the Algarve capital until the 7th of October and will have, in 2017, “a more comprehensive program” of sports and recreational activities “for the whole family”, provided by more than 50 entities in the municipality.
According to the Chamber of Faro, it will be possible to watch demonstrations and try out various sports, including fitness, aikido, handball, basketball, boxing, capoeira, dance, soccer, gymnastics, karate, kickboxing, rugby, functional training, horseback riding, chess, yoga and zumba .
On Saturday and Sunday, the 23rd and 24th of September, there is the Sport Show, at the Figuras Leisure Park, the central stage of the event, as well as the Nautical Show, at the Nautical Center of Praia de Faro, which will feature exhibitions, baptisms (boogie boarding, canoeing, kitesurfing, stand up paddle, surfing, sailing, windsurfing) and canoeing trips, among other activities.
On the same days, the Figuras Leisure Park will also host a social market «which will bring together various solidarity associations in the municipality with a view to promoting and disseminating responses, social resources and volunteering offers promoted by local entities, as well as awareness-raising activities for adapted sport', according to the Chamber of Faro, which organizes the event.
Water sports will also be highlighted at Doca de Faro, with emphasis on «light sailing and cruising, canoeing and electro solar boat rides».
«On the 7th of October, the open day of the Municipal Swimming Pools will also be held. Faro/Sporto Mais, during which participants will be able to practice free swimming activities (babies, adaptation, learning and improvement), hydrogymnastics and aquajogging», concluded the Chamber of Faro.
