The traditional Festas do Pescador are held from the 1st to the 3rd of September, in Albufeira, and, in addition to the taverns for food and drinks, there will be concerts by Roberto Leal and Quinta do Bill.

The event, which every year pays tribute to the fishing community of the land, will bring together various local associations, which present a menu filled with typical recipes linked to the sea.

«Xerém, cuttlefish with ink, assorted seafood, savory horse mackerel, whelk feijoada, cataplana, fish stew and regional sweets – with emphasis on dom rodrigos and fig, almond and carob cakes – promise a journey of flavors for the Algarve gastronomy», says the City Council of Albufeira.

From 18:00, Praça dos Pescadores comes alive and becomes a popular festival that brings together residents and tourists. At night, attention turns to the stage, where several artists will parade.

On Friday, the 1st, at 20:30 pm, Carlos Coelho opens the popular dance, followed by a performance by the band Quinta do Bill, at 22:00 pm.

In the year that marks 30 years of career, the group of folk rock, formed by Carlos Moisés, Paulo Bizarro, Carlos Calado, Dalila Marques, Jorge Costa and Miguel Urbano, will present on stage some of the most recent songs, but also his most emblematic themes, such as “Os Filhos da Nação”, “Se te amo ”, “Fly” or “No Trilho do Sol”.

Formed in 1987, Quinta do Bill has released nine original albums to date. The band's first album, “Sem Rumo”, was released in 1992. Their most recent work is “Todas As Estações”, an original album released in 2016.

On Saturday, the 2nd, it will be the turn of the XXI Albufeira Folklore Festival to bring together groups from various parts of the country, ambassadors of their regions, who will promote their music, dance and singing.

The Festival is now in its 21st edition, contributing to the appreciation and dissemination of traditional arts and cultures, promoting celebration and conviviality, diversity and cultural exchange.

On Sunday, Duo 64 is the first to step onto the stage, inviting everyone to dance to their popular repertoire. «The party will end to the sound of Roberto Leal, singer, composer and Portuguese actor based in Brazil, who, due to the success achieved in the 1970s, is considered an ambassador of Portuguese culture in Brazil», says the municipality of Albufeirense.

For the second time in Albufeira, the musician will present his latest work, “Arrebenta a Festa”, which marks his 45-year career, during which he won 30 gold records, five platinum records, two diamond records and more of 300 trophies.
