The playground of Vale de Faro, in Albufeira, will be remodeled. The Municipality of Albufeirense is going to invest around 300 euros in recovering this equipment and the green space where it is installed, existing since 2001, a work that should be completed within 60 days.
The refurbishment of the playground itself is valued at around 150 thousand euros, "an amount that is increased by another 8 thousand euros for the replacement of the floor in this area for children, in order to improve the conditions of use of this space", announced the Albufeira Town Hall.
At the same time, the municipality is benefiting the existing pedestrian paths in this urban park, a project valued at 120 thousand euros, and will also build new stairs.
the park of valley Faro it occupies an area of about 3 hectares, «where the eyes of visitors converge on a mirror of water, formed in the lake that receives the treated water from the WWTP of Albufeira, thus creating a peaceful and pleasant environment for those who stroll along the countless routes of this space» .
In the work that is already underway, it is foreseen «the opening of a new route that will connect to the “Albufeira Shopping” area, which involves the construction of a wooden bridge worth around 35 thousand euros».
«This Park is an extraordinary asset for Albufeira. It is a very heavenly green lung right in the center of the city and not everyone knows it, but we are going to remedy this situation, attracting more activities there. At the moment, the only problem is the time for the discharge of water from the WWTP that exists there, but we are in dialogue with the company Águas do Algarve so that this problem can be resolved once and for all», illustrated Rogério Neto, councilor responsible for the area of urban parks.
In addition to the space dedicated to the children's games, the Parque de Vale Faro it has various facilities, such as a picnic area with table tennis and a maintenance circuit with material for physical exercise.
Projected is already a «closed area, endowed with environmental enrichment, with equipment for leisure and canine exercise».
«With these improvements, the municipality believes that citizens will benefit from an excellent green park, safe and with the guarantee of a quiet space and, at the same time, with many reasons for entertainment», concluded the City Council of Albufeira.
