Last Friday, the Maritime Police of Lagos seized a fishing gear with 40 traps that was installed in a prohibited area and without signage.
The seizure was made as part of an inspection at sea between Ponta da Piedade and Ponte de Sagres, which had the objective of «combating illegal activities in this area».
In the operation, two recreational vessels were inspected, which did not show any irregularities.
Three elements were involved in this action, supported by a vessel of the local Command of the Maritime Police of Lagos.
