The play “Um Espectáculo (Bela and Abel) contrasts two visions of what theater is and takes to the stage at the Vila do Bispo Cultural Center next Saturday, July 15th, at 22 pm.

“A show (Bela and Abel) is staged by Elisabete Martins, and performed by Bruno Martins and Glória Fernandes, based on a text by Roberto Pinget.
«This is a production where two characters on stage present a show about theater that is a metaphor for life, about two different views about theater and about how, sometimes, these two views coexist in the same unifying instance of contemporary theater art», explains the Vila do Bispo Chamber.
The piece presents, on the one hand, the vision of the lightness of the “spotlight” of dilettantism, of what interests the audience because it amuses them and, on the other hand, the vision of depth, of dramatic truth, of the search for artistic rigor, of dramatic truth which, as a rule, disturbs the public because it questions it.
«It is in a constant trial/error that they confront their essence», says the Vilabispense municipality. The play lasts 70 minutes. Tickets are on sale at the Centro Cultural de Vila do Bispo.
