The third “Mercado Fora d'Horas” in Silves takes place on the 9th of August, from 19 pm to midnight, and will “look at our culture through food”.
The Municipal Market of Silves is once again the stage for the initiative.
Only, this time, the participants will be challenged “to delight themselves with beautiful delicacies, seeking to stimulate a dialogue between our food traditions and contemporaneity, having as the central idea “the eyes eat””, explains the Câmara de Silves .
Questions such as: in a visual world what place will traditional food have or will it be the appearance of everything in the food, as well as whether taste is influenced by appearance will be addressed throughout this evening.
The event originated from the community design project “Consumirlocal” which explores the fact that design can help the community and relate to consumer spaces. The project was conceived as part of the Masters in Design Communication for Tourism and Culture, at the School of Education and Communication of the University of Algarve, by Alexandra Santos, under the supervision of Joana Lessa.
