Theme stores geek e pop, tournaments of Gaming, workshops and the acclaimed competition of cosplay are attractions of the 6th edition of the “Manga and Comic Event”, to be held on August 19th and 20th, at the Hotel and Tourism School, in Faro.
This already «known and anticipated activity of the Algarve summer», wants to attract «fans of Japanese animation, western animation, videogames, cinema and series», according to the Algarve Geeks Group, which organizes the event.
By the way, the “Manga and Comic Event” intends to animate “geeks and not only”, having already a “solid base of visitors that have been maintained from year to year”.
For example, the event exceeded 2000 entries.
The fact that it takes place at the Hotel and Tourism School of Faro it is an advantage because the space is large and there is «proximity to the train station and the medium and long-distance bus station in the city».
The event has the presence of several artists, who produce and share their art with visitors.
In addition to receiving highly regarded cosplayers Portuguese and foreigners, who travel from Spain on purpose to be present at the event, the “Manga and Comic Event” will feature, this year, the visit of national actor João Loy, who gave voice and personality to several animation characters, including in so famous anime Dragon Ball.
You can also find at the "Manga and Comic Event" some Portuguese groups specifically dedicated to certain themes, such as the steampunk or the universe Star Wars, which organize some activities, as well as several presentations over the two days, whether mini-activities on stage, in which everyone is invited to participate, or music dance groups pop Oriental.
Daily tickets cost 3 euros and for two days 4 euros.
