A group of 20 young French people, residing in the municipality of Roche La Molière, in the Rhône-Alpes region, with whom the municipality of São Brás de Alportel is developing a twinning project, visited the Algarve municipality for five days to discover the reality of young people from São Brasenses and discover the Algarve.

As explained by the City Council of São Brás de Alportel, this visit fulfills one of the objectives of the twinning between the municipalities of São Brás de Alportel and Roche la Molière, signed on 1 June, which includes an “exchange between young people from both regions, in order to provide a healthy and very enriching sharing of realities and experiences».

The young people, accompanied by technicians from the French municipality and a councilor from the municipality of Roche la Molière, were received by the municipal executive and representatives of the Municipal Youth Forum. Afterwards, they participated “in a vast program of activities that allowed them to get to know the reality of young people in São Brasenses”.

The São Brasense municipality explains that this initiative allows "different children and young people from that French community to discover the life of young people their own age in another European community in the areas of education, culture and sport."

The group of young French people also visited the Museu do Trajo, the Explanatory and Reception Center of Calçadinha, the replica monument of the Santa Cruz hydroplane, and cork and sweets were also part of the young people's route, coordinated and accompanied by the Sector of City Hall Tourism.
