The works of photography, video, videogames, music or design produced during the school year at ETIC_Algarve were presented this Tuesday, at the end of the afternoon, at Teatro das Figuras, in Faro, at Sunset ETIC_Algarve.

Nuno Ribeiro, director of ETIC_Algarve, explained that the event “is the culmination of a school year and an exhibition of what students are doing throughout the year. It has musical production and creation presentations, with students performing live, and sound technique students prepare this performance. already in the foyer, we have photography work, concept art, design and video works, with the presentation of documentaries and videoclips produced this year'.

In the case of the works presented in video, Nuno Ribeiro highlighted «very important moments» with the presentation of two video clips made for bands in the Algarve, the presentation of a documentary about Farense and another about Teatro Lethes. «They are two icons of this city, it was an idea of the students, who thought about the theme, made the contacts and worked on these institutions», highlighted the person in charge.

At the beginning of the evening, the interdisciplinary work “Follow Me” was also presented, «a project of six students, from various areas, who made Erasmus in Malaga and created a short film, with which we want to make a banner out of it, presented- or at festivals, because it was a very good job, very well filmed, edited and carried out».

This is, by the way, a bet of ETIC_Algarve, the distribution of works through the festival circuit. «The works don't stay in the drawer, they are property of the school, but also of their authors. We bet on projection and promotion in international or national festivals. There is this continuity that means that students who have already finished the course a year or two ago will receive a prize or honorable mention, at a festival in Beijing or in Freixo-de-Espada-à-Cinta», adds Nuno Ribeiro.

For the director of ETIC_Algarve, the school year was “very positive and the result of continued work. We have news of events in which students will be, throughout the summer, out of class time, working on very significant projects in the Algarve. It is important that the school has this nature, that it promotes the creation of a real portfolio, that students have experience in the field while they are studying, with schedules, that deal with constraints, or with the demands of clients».
