Tavira celebrates City Day to the sound of Ana Moura's Fado

A concert by the fado singer Ana Moura, at 22:00, on June 24, at Praça da República, will mark the celebrations of the Day of the City of Tavira.

The music will also be present in the Santos Populares arrais, taking place on the 23rd, 24th, 25th, 29th and 30th of June, from 21 pm, at Jardim do Bandstand, all "in a properly decorated setting", says the Chamber of Tavira

On the first day, the group “Gerações” and the Rancho Folclórico de Tavira will animate the hosts, with Fábio Lagarto performing on the 24th, “Mais Dois”, on the 25th, Silvino Campos, on the 29th, and “Sons do Sul”, the close on the 30th.

On the eve of São João, on the 23rd, at 22 pm, at the Castelo de Tavira, there will be a theatrical performance of Moura Encantada, by Armação do Artista, with the support of the local authority.

“At midnight, at Ponte das Forças Armadas, a pyromusical show marks the high point of the festivities”, says the Tavirense autarchy.

On the 24th, the City Day is marked with the raising of flags, at 10 am, at Paços do Concelho, and a solemn session, at 30 am, at the Álvaro de Campos Library.
