The Portuguese handball team came to the Loulé Municipal Pavilion to beat its Swiss counterpart 27-22, at stake for the 4th round of the qualifying phase for Euro2018. With this victory, the second in a few days against the Swiss team, Portugal rose to 2nd place in group 5, whose outstanding leader is Germany.

The Germans have won the four games they have played, one of which against Portugal, and are the first with 8 points. Portugal comes right behind with 5 points. Slovenia has 3 points and Switzerland is still at zero, with only defeats.

To be at the European Championship, which will take place in Croatia, the national handball team will have to secure one of the top two places in the group. The qualifying phase continues in June, with the Quinas team welcoming the German national team, on the 14th, in Gondomar, and closing the qualification in Slovenia, on the 17th.
