A man thought to be missing on the Guadiana since yesterday afternoon was found this morning, in good health and sailing in his kayak on the river.

The man was found at 9:30 am this Sunday, by elements of the Fire Department of Mértola who participated in the searches, said a source from the District Command of Relief Operations (CDOS) of Beja.

This canoeist had been reported missing yesterday by his two fellow adventurers who, after falling into the river in the Pulo do Lobo area, having reached the shore by their own means, never saw the third member of the group again. Having lost contact with him, the two men alerted him to his disappearance at 23:26 pm this Saturday.

However, it came to be known today that the third man, after the other two had fallen into the water, 'got a little disoriented, leaned against a river bank, where he camped overnight, as he had been prepared for it. , and this morning he resumed navigation on the river».

According to the source of the CDOS in Beja, the searches to find the man involved elements of the GNR and the Mértola Firefighters.
