The traveling exhibition “History of Writing in Baixo Alentejo – From the origins to our days”, an initiative of the Baixo Alentejo Museum Network, opens on June 1st, at 17:30 pm, at the Cultural Forum of Almodôvar – Convento de Nossa Senhora da Conceição, in Almodôvar.
The exhibition promoted by that Network of Museums, which integrates the Intermunicipal Community of Baixo Alentejo (CIMBAL), intends to “make known Writing in Baixo Alentejo throughout history, dealing with themes territorially”.
The exhibition, which can be seen in Almodôvar until the 24th of June, is based on panels and will feature a piece or a document by each museum or entity that makes up the Baixo Alentejo Museum Network.
This is an itinerant exhibition and will tour all the municipalities in the region, and Almodôvar will be the first municipality to host it, as it is the Alentejo town where the Sudoeste Writing Museum (MESA) is located. Later, the show will be presented in other locations outside Baixo Alentejo.
The organizers guarantee that «the exhibition will be remarkable for Baixo Alentejo, based on a qualitative leap in the way of showing potential, through a current and attractive graphic language».
This initiative presents itself, therefore, as «a factor of unity of the territory, generating attraction of audiences, as well as the dissemination and information about the rich historical heritage of the region».
During the inauguration in Almodôvar, there will be music and a historical recreation.
