The Centro Ciência Viva de Lagos celebrates the International Space Day, on the 5th of May, at 21 pm, with an Astronomical Observation session at the highest point in the Algarve, Fóia, in the Monchique mountains.

In this initiative, open to families and the general population, the night sky will be observed and recorded.

The Center invites all participants to bring their telescopes and cameras to capture the stars and planets. He also advises that, "for better results, they should bring a tripod and a remote trigger, providing the Center with all the support they need."

This activity is free and carried out with the support of the Municipality of Monchique, but requires mandatory registration through http://bit.ly/2oG0ziK.

International Space Day takes place on the first Friday in May, its main objective being the promotion of Science, Technology, Mathematics and engineering education, fueling young people's enthusiasm for the wonders of the universe and inspiring them to continue the work of investigating the Universe of today's space explorers.
