The UHF will liven up the 25th of April celebrations, in Monchique, with a concert on the 25th, at 21 pm, at Largo dos Chorões.
the band of rock Portuguese is one of the main highlights of the Carnation Revolution celebrations program in the mountain village, which only ends on April 30th.
According to Monchique City Council, the village is «privileged with this performance» by the band responsible «for the emergence of tree do rock in Portugal in 1980”, in a concert that the municipality says is “not to be missed”.
The celebrations begin on the morning of April 25, at 8:30 am, with the Liberdade Cycle Tour, an activity that will tour all the parishes of the county. At 9:00 am, there will be a release of pigeons at the Monte Velho Training Ground, an activity promoted by the Monchique Hunting and Fishing Club
At 9:30 am, the Flagship Hastear is scheduled, in Paços do Concelho.
The day will also be filled with a running march, traditional games, petanque demonstrations, target shooting, demonstrations of karate and single – and single – against married – and married football matches.
From 12:30 pm, there will be a convivial lunch at the Fire Station.
The celebrations will extend to the 30th of April, with the III Meeting of Fitness and the XCO MTB race, counting for the Algarve Cup.
“It is then time to go out into the street, to take advantage of these proposals and to celebrate April and the day that opened the paths to freedom, solidarity and democracy”, concludes the Monchique City Council.
