The «Tactical approach to multi-victim incidents» will be the subject of a seminar, on April 19, starting at 14 pm, in the red auditorium of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve, on the Gambelas Campus.

The seminar, promoted by the team of Emergency Medical Vehicles and Resuscitation (VMER) of Faro and Albufeira, «intends to bring together representatives of the various civil protection and relief forces and provide a debate on the approach of critical events involving weapons and/or hazardous materials», explains Bruno Santos, coordinator of VMER of Faro and Albufeira.

The initiative aims to consolidate "operational competences, based on current legislation and operational directives in the field of protection and assistance", adds the official.

Abel Gomes, second commander of the District Relief Operations Command of Faro, will present the Integrated Relief Operations Device DON1 – Operations Management System.

At 15:00 pm, there will be interventions by Subintendent Fausto Cabrita, from the PSP, and Captain Carlos Covelo, from the GNR, who will make an “Approach of scenarios and integration of police tactical operations”.

After the break, Commander Richard Marques, from the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Portimão, will talk about «HAZMAT — Dangerous Matters».

The panel also includes two interventions in the health area, namely one on "Medical Emergency — initial approach to multi-victim tactical scenarios", given by nurse Ivo Santos, from INEM, and another on "Lessons learned in tactical-police multi-victim incidents around the world », by doctor Eva Motero and nurse João Cláudio Guiomar, from the VMER team in Faro and Albufeira.

The seminar, aimed at civil protection entities and agents, is free but requires prior registration here. The program can be consulted in this link.
