The Chamber of Faro promised to launch "a manual of good practices aimed at all owners who intend to make renovations to their properties", which will allow them to better plan the restoration and remodeling works they want to carry out in their homes. The commitment of the executive from Faro was assumed during an awareness and reflection session on the importance of preserving traditional coverings on façades, which was promoted in the Algarve capital on Tuesday, April 18, the International Day of Monuments and Sites.

The municipality of Faro launched the debate on this topic, considering that the preservation of coverings is “an act of culture and sustainability”. This will also be the reason why the Chamber wants to launch the manual of good practices, which will “provide , through an easy and intuitive language, the answers to the most common questions, helping promoters in their task of planning and carrying out restoration or remodeling works, in accordance with the technical and legal norms in use in our Municipality».

«During the session, topics of great relevance were addressed, within the scope of the ongoing reconversion process in the Historic Center and Downtown, which were enriched with the exhibition of a documentary explaining the best practices carried out in some Portuguese municipalities». added the municipality.

The commemorations of the International Day of Monuments and Sites, in Faro, continues today, April 22, with a guided tour by Francisco Lameira to the Igreja da Sé, the Seminary and the Episcopal Palace, followed by a moment of fado, by Luís Manhita, scheduled for 15 pm. At 00 pm, the Cathedral of Faro hosts a concert by organist João Vaz.
