The Just a Change association will rehabilitate eight houses and an institution in the village of Monchique, between April 22nd and May 28th, but for that to happen, it needs a lot of help.
Just a Change is a non-profit association that rehabilitates homes for people in need. He believes that, by rehabilitating a house, he is creating only a fundamental change in the lives of its inhabitants.
In partnership with BPI and the Municipality of Monchique, the project in this mountain council in the Algarve mobilizes «a network of volunteers and strategic partners, in order to guarantee that all the conditions are met to start the work».
The organization explains that the work will be organized in the format of summer camps, where volunteering is intensive and transformative. Each camp will last for one week and cost 15 euros per person, to cover the insurance and t-shirt. Accommodation and meals are provided by the Municipality of Monchique.
Just a Change will mobilize many volunteers from across the country, but stresses that “the involvement of the local community is very important for the project”.

During the year, Just a Change works in Lisbon and Porto, and, in the summer, makes summer camps in Ferreira do Zêzere, Óbidos and Sever do Vouga. Now it will also come to Monchique.
