António Eusébio, PS candidate for the Chamber of Faro in this year's Autumn Local Elections, it created the “Participated Electoral Program”, whose first meeting, “to listen to the Farenses” and their “ideas and proposals for the council”, took place on 7 April.
With the participation of «about 100 militants and sympathizers» the motto was the «will to make Faro better», according to PS Farense.
“Using an informal methodology, the participants were first invited to reflect on what their first action would be if they were elected president of the Chamber. Afterwards, the thematic areas of Urbanism, Social Inclusion, Youth, Employment, Mobility and accessibility were worked on, by different groups», tells the Socialist Party of Faro.
This team work resulted in «about 150 proposals and concrete matters to intervene, being the starting point for the construction of the Participated Electoral Program for Faro», explains the PS.
The next step in this process of listening to the population will take place in the coming months, in decentralized meetings with communities and citizens from all parishes and areas of the municipality.
At this stage of electoral preparation, according to PS, it is “fundamental to mobilize the participation of all and all citizens of the municipality of Faro». For António Eusébio “it is possible with everyone's will to find better solutions”.
For the PS, António Eusébio was even «pioneer in the creation of the Participatory Budget in Portugal, by implementing it as mayor of São Brás de Alportel in 2006», as he is since, according to this party, «for the first time the electoral program of a political party to the City Council of Faro it will be built with the participation of the population».
“The Socialist Party's candidacy is deeply convinced that it only makes sense for a municipal candidacy to Faro listening to people and responding to their anxieties and expectations», conclude the socialists.
