The Urban Sketchers of the Algarve will meet again in Portimão, on Saturday and Sunday, the 25th and 26th of March, to make drawings inspired by the city, its buildings, places and people.

The downtown of Portimo once again hosts this meeting, which in 2016 brought together 20 authors, and associates it with the commemorations of the National Day of Historic Centers. "Both initiatives take place within the scope of the municipality's program of activities at the level of the ARU- Historic Center of Portimão, with the aim of keeping alive the memory of the city and enabling the involvement and participation of the community in the urban rehabilitation process", according to Portimão Chamber, which organizes the event.

Those who want to join the meeting must attend the TEMPO-Teatro Municipal de Portimão at 10 am on March 26. Registration is free and must be done online.

This will be the “practical” part of this two-day event, which starts on Saturday, March 25th, with the workshop «Narratives of Architecture and People who Live it», which will take place at ISMAT- Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes between 10:00 am and at 13:00 pm and 15:00 pm and 18:00 pm and will have the architects Pedro Alves and Pedro Loureiro as trainers.

This workshop is aimed at «all those who like to draw and who here can learn more about how to compose a narrative focused on a built environment, and from the point of view of the people who experience it». Participation is free but registration is mandatory via the email [email protected].
