The Municipal Assembly of Lagos approved a vote of praise for the Lacobrigense athlete Cláudia Neto, captain of the Portuguese Women's Football Team, who is currently representing our country in the Algarve Cup tournament, which runs until 8 March.

The team debuted in the competition, precisely in Lagos, with the Chamber taking the opportunity to honor her before the game against Russia, which Portugal would lose 1-0.

On the same day, 1 March, the Municipal Assembly of Lagos unanimously approved a vote of praise for the athlete, «publicly congratulating the participation and performance of this athlete who, through her talent and effort, persistence, motivation and dedication, contributed to these remarkable made for national sport and helped to project the name of Portugal in European women's football», according to this local body in Lacobrigense.

Born in Lagos, Cláudia Neto is currently at the service of Swedish club Linköpings FC and is the footballer of the A team with the highest number of caps. That's why, the captain of the national team, which will compete in July, for the first time, in the European Championship.
