Portimonense and Olhanense lost the matches they played this Saturday, counting for the II League championship. The team from Portimão went to Madeira to lose to União by 3-1, while the team from Olhão lost by three unanswered goals at Sporting da Covilhã.

The leader of the Portimonense championship registered, in this way, the second defeat in the 2016/17 edition of the II Liga. It was also the second game without a win, as last week Vítor Oliveira's pupils had already worked hard to get a draw against Penafiel.

In the clash with União, Portimonense found themselves at a disadvantage after six minutes, when Kwame N'Sor began to mold what was to be a hat-trick. Portimonense still had time to tie the game, before the break, with a goal by Manafá in the 42nd minute, but N'Sor was sure to assert himself as the man of the match with two more goals, one in the 56th minute, the other in the 83rd minute , penalty.

At the same time, in Covilhã, Olhanense had another defeat, the sixth in a row. Erivelto put the Beirões ahead in the 20th minute, Joel made it 2-0 in the 56th minute and Onyeka closed the count in the 88th minute.

Portimonense's defeat does not prevent them from continuing in the 1st position of the II Liga, with 56 points and with the same four-point advantage over second-placed Desportivo das Aves, who also lost the match they played yesterday. However, Académica won and managed to shorten the disadvantage for the Algarve to 16 points.

Olhanense, on the other hand, seems to be heading towards an inevitable relegation to the National Championship, taking into account that they only scored 13 points in the 24 rounds of the II League already played and could be more than ten points behind the second-to-last, Freamunde, who have 22 points, but less a game.
