The Maritime Police fined two people, the crew member of a professional fishing vessel who did not wear a life jacket and a recreational fisherman who did not have a license, as part of an inspection carried out between Ponta da Piedade, in Lagos, and the Alvor bar, in Portimão, on Saturday.

In all, five vessels were inspected, in one of which, a fishing boat with local registration, a crew member without a life jacket was found, an offense punishable by a fine "between 50 and 750 euros". The man who was caught in the pursuit of recreational fishing without a license will have to pay at least 200 euros, with the fine reaching 2 euros.

The objective of the operation carried out by the Military Police of Lagos was “to combat illegal activities in this area”.
