75% of the people approached by the Maritime Police of Faro, in an action carried out yesterday, January 5, were fined for non-compliance with the use of life jackets when operating on board vessels.

In this sense, "the Maritime Authority reinforces the call for the adoption of a permanent safety culture".

"The Maritime Police will continue its inspection action, not only to prevent illegal activities, but also to make the maritime community aware of the mandatory use of life jackets and other safety devices, such as measures to prevent accidents at sea », concludes the Maritime Authority.
