Tenoca, Vale Silves and Alfontes are the three towns in the parish of Boliqueime that will be covered by the water distribution network, announced the Municipality of Loulé. The consignment notice for the network expansion work was signed last week.

According to the municipality, the work is intended to «guarantee water supply to the population and grant them a high degree of freedom in terms of conditions of free consumption and well-being, taking into account the project horizon year, and not ignoring in no way the convenience allied to the safety factor».

The work will be carried out over a total length of 4352 meters, through the construction of infrastructure in several paths in the area. The network will be developed along the side of the road and was designed to cover the entire area to be served, also allowing for watering the garden and fighting fires.

The value of the contract amounts to 300 thousand euros and the expected execution period is 10 months.

The Municipality of Loulé emphasizes that this will be one of the works it will carry out «throughout 2017, in the area of water supply (an item that corresponds to a budget share of 7,7%)».

For the mayor, Vítor Aleixo, «in a municipality as vast as ours, we continue to work so that the entire population has access to infrastructure that is essential for their well-being, such as water supply; that is why, in 2017, we will continue to invest on this front, in several locations that are not yet equipped with a water supply network».
