Grupo Coral Ossónoba will perform Cantata Mundi in two shows, the first of which is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, January 28, at 20:30 pm, at the Igreja Matriz in Vila do Bispo.

The other presentation of the work, with music by Rodrigo Leão and arrangements and orchestration by Ana Margarida Encarnação and Rui Baeta, will be on April 22, at the Igreja Matriz in Portimão.

In the concerts, the three choirs of Grupo Coral Ossónoba – Pequenos Cantores d'Ossónoba, Ossónoba Coro Juvenil and Coral Ossónoba – will be accompanied by baritone Rui Baeta and a string quintet, percussion and organ.

The Cantata Mundi was the result of a commission from the Diocese of Santarém for the inauguration of the Diocesan Museum and "unites the two currents in Rodrigo Leão's compositions, one of profane inspiration and the other spiritual," according to Coral Ossónoba.

Tickets for tomorrow's concert, in Vila do Bispo, cost 2 euros. Admission to the presentation that will take place in Portimão will cost 5 euros.

The concerts are part of the 365 Algarve's programming and are also supported by the Municipal Councils and Parishes of Vila do Bispo and Portimão.
