The Chamber of Castro Marim has hired a nurse for the Mobile Health Unit (UMS) of the municipality, the municipality announced today.

In a note sent to the newsrooms, the Municipality emphasizes that “once again, the Ministry of Health has been replaced”.

The Chamber of Castro Marim explains that «given the practical impossibility of the Ministry of Health to comply with the protocol, the Municipality of Castro Marim, in addition to the three doctors already in office, hired a nurse who visits the hospital daily. UMS the hundred villages scattered throughout the county».

In addition to the existing protocol with the ARS Algarve, the functioning of UMS relies on a partnership with the Social Association of the Parish of Odeleite, the Social Welfare Association of the Parish of Azinhal and the Castro Marim Health Centre.

In the same note, the municipality recalls that it has been waiting "for about six months for the reopening of the extension of the Azinhal Health Centre, as agreed with the ARS Algarve, with the municipality having completed the works required by the Ministry of Health."
