The renovated Auditorium of the Centro Cultural de Lagos will reopen on February 3, at 21 pm, with a concert by Rui Massena. The largest concert hall in Lacobrigense was remodeled to improve its comfort and is once again available to the public.

The artist invited to “sponsor” the official reopening of the space is best known for his career as a conductor, but it will be solo on the piano that he will perform in Lagos.

Going up to the stage as a performer was, according to the Câmara de Lagos, a challenge embraced in 2015 by the conductor who “helped transform Guimarães 2012 – European Capital of Culture into a resounding success story”.

«A conductor without an orchestra, but with a world of melodies at his fingertips. This challenge resulted in an album – “Solo” – which also revealed an incredible facet of composer and which Rui Massena took to the stage with remarkable success and which won the applause of thousands of people. In 2016, Universal Music released its latest album “Ensemble”, in collaboration with the Czech National symphonic orchestra, which went directly to #1 in the national top, a rare feat for this musical genre», added the local authority lacobrigense.

Tickets for the show cost 10 euros and can now be purchased at the Centro Cultural de Lagos.

After the reopening, this cultural facility will feature a month of February “full of initiatives, such as dance and music, stand up comedy and theatre, according to the Chamber. Something that should be repeated throughout 2017, the year that marks the 25th anniversary of the inauguration of this space.
