The motorcyclist, who suffered a serious wrist injury in the last edition of this rally, accepted to be the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team consultant in a race in which he was already runner-up.

«Although in the last Dakar it was proven that my pace remains at the level of the fastest, the fall I had in the 6th stage hurt my right wrist, which forced me to undergo a new surgery and a painful and Late. Faced with the impossibility of being at the start of the 2017 Dakar, Husqvarna Rally Factory invited me to join the working group of the Rally department as Team Consultant», announced Ruben Faria.

Basically, the Algarve rider will lend his vast experience, which earned him national and international titles, to the motorcyclists who will start at the Dakar 2017. According to Ruben Faria, those responsible for the team considered it essential to have someone so knowledgeable «to advise drivers at all levels, but mainly race tactics and navigation advice».

“For Husqvarna Rally Factory, having someone who knows what the drivers think and need is fundamental. I have around me a group of very professional people which makes my job a lot easier. Special thanks to those responsible for the KTM Group for believing in me as a driver and continuing to believe in this new role within the structure”, added the Moncarapachen driver.

Ruben Faria leaves this Sunday for Morocco where the team will undergo the final tests before the departure for Dakar.
