The Algarvians, who lead the league table, were coming from a defeat for the championship against the 2nd classified, Desportivo das Aves, but did not accuse the defeat, having achieved a clear victory against the Beira, which could have been more expressive.

Portimão's team, playing in front of their audience, came under pressure and attacking, having managed to get ahead of the scoreboard after 10 minutes, through Jadson. Throughout the first half, almost only Portimonense, who, even so, did not manage to extend the advantage until half-time.

More goals had to come in the second half, despite Viseu having sketched a reaction and having managed to target the goal of the Algarve a few times. But who most attacked and shot was Portimonense, who expanded the result to 2-0 in the 75th minute, through a good goal by Pires, from outside the area. The final result was sealed by Ewerton, in the 87th minute.

Before the final whistle, Portimonense created even more chances to score, one of which was flagrant, with Ricardo Pessoa hitting the crossbar in a free-kick.

The three goals were more than enough to guarantee as many points, which added to those that the Portimão team had already earned before, keep Portimonense comfortable in the 1st position of the II Liga, with 42 points, 7 more than Aves, who only plays tomorrow the match for the 17th round.
