Two fishermen who were illegally fishing bivalves in the Ria Formosa, fled when they saw the Maritime Police, in an action that took place on 21 December, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. These fishermen abandoned both their fishing gear and the bivalves they had caught.

​​«The bivalves, because they were alive, were returned to their natural habitat and the gear seized and deposited at the local Command of the Maritime Police of Faro», explains the National Maritime Authority.

It was not possible to identify the fishermen. Two agents of the Maritime Police and a member of the Stretch of the Sea of ​​the Captaincy of Faro, as well as a vessel of the Local Command of the Maritime Police of Faro.
