defibrillator-portimao_03Training the «largest number of hoteliers in the Algarve» in Basic Life Support and Automatic External Defibrillation is the objective of the collaboration protocol signed yesterday, December 12, between the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA) and the Regional Administration of Health (ARS) of the Algarve.

With this training, professionals in the sector will gain «practical skills, which allow them to provide immediate response in medical emergency situations», such as in cases of cardiorespiratory arrest.

According to the signed protocol, professionals from local hotel units will also be invited to participate in courses, seminars and conferences that address these same themes.

«As the main tourist destination in the country, the Algarve attracts thousands of visitors every year. The excellence of our offer also goes through the healthcare, safety conditions and emergency services that we provide», says Desidério Silva, president of RTA.

«With this pioneering protocol, we intend to prepare professionals in the tourism sector for possible emergency situations, ensuring the health and well-being of tourists who choose the Algarve for their holidays» he concluded.

In order to give this training, ARS do Algarve signed this Monday a protocol with INEM that grants it the necessary certification to promote actions of this nature.
