AIDSFree screenings, starting at 14 pm, and an awareness-raising action, followed by a debate, at 00 am, will mark, at Escola Secundária de Silves, World AIDS Day, which is celebrated on 10 November. 

This awareness-raising action will have the participation of technicians from the Division of Intervention in Addictive Behaviors and Dependencies, of the Regional Health Administration of the Algarve, in which they «will enlighten the participants on situations related to the HIV-AIDS virus and other STI's».

During the awareness-raising action, there will be a Forum Theater, in charge of the Spectacle Arts Class – Interpretation, from EBS da Bemposta.

Afterwards, an open debate and clarification of doubts are foreseen, as well as the distribution of informative and preventive material, provided by the Center for Counseling and Early Detection of HIV/AIDS Infection (CAD) of Faro.

In the afternoon, there will be free screenings for the HIV-AIDS virus, for people over 18 years old, open to the entire community. Young people aged 16 or over may also undergo screening upon presentation of a statement from their parents.

This initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Silves, through its Youth sector.
