gastronomic week honey and arbutusThe Gastronomic Week in the municipality of Odemira, which takes place from the 21st to the 27th of November, will have honey and arbutus as the main ingredients. 

The event will feature the participation of the restaurants «Flor do Campo» from Sabóia, «O Escondidinho do Poço» and «O Tarro» from Odemira, «O Jaime» from Boavista dos Pinheiros, «Mar e Sol» from Vila Nova de Milfontes, and “O i”, by Zambujeira do Mar.

The menus will feature various meat and fish dishes or snacks made in a variety of ways and flavored with honey or arbutus.

«The desserts will also be based on honey and arbutus from the municipality of Odemira, with proposals such as Semfrio de arbutus, honey and walnut cake and pudding, honey pie, honey pudding, corn bread with honey, golden slices with honey, arbutusca and medronho of the Southwest», says the Chamber of Odemira.

«The municipality of Odemira has a long tradition in honey production, being appointed as a high quality honey. Medronho and the production of brandy based on medronho are also known for their great production and quality in Odemira. Both products are considered strategic for the development and economic dynamism of the interior of the county”, concludes the local authority.
