2016-239-LOVE-terra-chaThe Contemporary Dance Company of Évora will present, in Olhão, the show «Terra Chã», which crosses contemporary dance, Alentejo sing and sonnets by Florbela Espanca, next Saturday, October 29, at 21 pm, at the Municipal Auditorium of Olhão .

The show, directed and choreographed by Nélia Pinheiro, will give a sound language to Alentejo's singing. The sonnets of Florbela Espanca, together with the singing fashions, «structure the dramaturgical score of the bodies on stage», says Câmara de Olhão.

The choreography, according to Évora's Contemporary Dance Company, «talks about the expression of the land, the voices and expression of men, the strength that unites them, the weight, the density of the air, the void, the silence, the group and the loneliness, extremes and limits, loves and disaffections».

«Terra Chã» is performed by Nélia Pinheiro herself and also by dancers Gonçalo Andrade, Fábio Blanco, Ivanoel Tavares and Constança Sierra Couto.

The music is by Ólafur Arnalds, also incorporating the Alentejo singing fashions, and the costumes are signed by José António Tenente.
